Congrats to the Change the Web Winners!

Social Actions' just announced the three top prize winners for their Change the Web Challenge at NTEN's Nonprofit Technology Conference in San Francisco! Read the full press release here!

Thirty-five developers submitted web applications to the Challenge that use Social Actions' API, a dataset of ways for people to take civic actions (i.e. volunteer, sign a petition, donate) pulled from over 50 websites such as VolunteerMatch,, and

After a public online vote narrowed the list to 24 finalists, a team of eight judges selected the three winning web applications based on innovation, usability, and potential for impact.

So without any further ado, the winners of Social Actions' Change the Web Challenge are . . .

First Prize Winner ($5,000) - Social Actions Interactive Map - Submitted by John Brennan

Second Place winner ($3,000) - Zemanta's Related Social Actions for Bloggers submitted by Jure Cuhalev of Zemanta

Third place winner ($2,000) - SquarePeg's iPhone Application - submitted by Dieterich Lawson & Isaac Holeman

Congratulations to the winners, the 24 Finalists , and all to all the Projects that were submitted! We are very excited to support all of the Projects moving forward!

Also, congrats to everyone for making the Change the Web Challenge such a huge success! You rocked the web for change!
