Update: Thanks everyone for taking the time to give us your feedback. Nadia will work on another version of the logo, trying to incorporate all your feedback. Watch for it soon!

By the skilled hand of graphic designer, Nadia Gomez, come the logo above, crafted for our upcoming Change the Web Challenge.

After intense brainstorming of ideas (other logos created by Nadia can be found here), we feel that with this particular logo, Nadia has done an excellent job capturing the overall spirit of the event, and has produced an image that is representative of a collaborative, action-oriented and dynamic challenge.

But as you're a part of this challenge as much as we are, we open the floor to your comments: What do you think of the logo? Does it embody what Change the Web is hoping to accomplish?

Post your feedback below - and if you happen to like any of Nadia's alternate logos, tell us as well.

And last but not least, on behalf of Social Actions and Change the Web, thank you so very much Nadia for your dedication, artistry, and quick work. Change the Web will be fortunate to be represented by any of your artwork!

too violent... bring the message in there. the goodness. I would take exactly the same wires and fist/plugs and cure them on top to form a big heart.
start with 3 wires below, come each side into one wire, one red, one blue, go up, curve and overlap to form a big heart.

To start, maybe change your web. I clicked on the text link for Change the Web above and I looped several times thorough a series of article links and sponsorship PR before finding what Change the Web is. Just saying, As for the logo. My first impression was conflict, cables, fists, red states and blue states slugging it our for control of the intertubes and people's mindspace. A liitle of a head of wheat grains, a lot of tangle and competitiveness. I get web but I don't get change. Looking hard for it and only see a gradient color thing. but the opposition of the fists overpowers. Color is weaker and cables thinner when interconected, stronger when apart. The power point is separation and taking sides. What? Where are Open hand?. Uniting. I get dividing from this. Opposite sides emphasized because the movement and saturation and expansion are upward where everything is about sorting and different sides. Very binary. It's beautiful but not my approach to change. Red white and blue circle cliche on overdose after the US elections. Green is a vector of change to many. Social actions uses green and blue. First impression. The serif type is all election poster.

The hands look like Ethernet plugs at first glance, which is really cool as it hints to the online aspect of the movement. The crossing of hands also form artistic "Ws." The only concern I have is that a closed fist may have connotations in cultures other than mine which may not be so positive.

Hi Romina and Nadia, I'm definitely a fan of the proposed logo. The other three designs from Nadia are attractive, but they don't quite capture the movement and techy traits of this challenge. The developer hands weaving a web of sorts does the trick. A few suggestions:

- Colors: I'd love to see a version that works with the same blue / green combination that you find in Social Actions' logo. The Red and Blue make the current proposed logo look like a presidential campaign. I'd suggest making the red arms green and ligtening the blue so it matches Social Actions' logo.

- Text: We have been referring to this challenge as Social Actions' Change the Web Challenge. Is there anyway to incorporate the word 'challenge' into the Change the Web title. I'm fine with using 'powered by Social Actions', but I'd like to see the actual Social Actions logo incorporated.

- Font: Social Actions website is built on two fonts: arial and Adobe Garamond Pro. Can Nadia prepare a version of The Change the Web Challenge logo that uses these fonts instead of the all-caps Times New Roman (or whatever it is).

- Checking in with sponsors: Before we confirm the logo, let's check in with our official sponsors and several of the media sponsors to get their input. The question to ask: Is this concept something they would feel comfortable featuring on their websites?

Again, great work. I really like the first iteration and look forward to having a look at the next one. By the way, the link to Nadia's website is broken. I think you'll need to add http:// to the beginning of the URL.

All the best, PEter

Thank you Romi & Nadia for being so open to feedback! I love the power that's expressed w/ this design but want to chime in with two strong suggestions:

1. Color scheme -- would prefer to see Social Actions' colors used (green and blue) for a clear visual tie-in

2. While I like the power, the squared-off fists and sabre-like "swoops" feel much too violent. Visually, Social Actions should evoke "taking action" but not imho "activism that fights the powers that be." If the colors soften, if the fists can be more rounded/realist than Pink-Floyd-The-Wall harsh, and the swoops can be softened (perhaps with a textured fade-into-nothingness at their ends) -- those combined tweaks might take the edge off for me.

Otherwise, 100% agree with Joseph Dee above -- upward movement, reaching, hope, strength -- all clearly evoked and eye-catching.

Thanks for soliciting feedback -- hope this is helpful!

To me, this captures the spirit of community, hope, strength, action, reaching, and the future. It represents Change The Web perfectly in my eyes. Well done Nadia, beautiful work.
