GeniusRocket, an innovative marketing firm based in Washington DC, has announced a $500 award for the designer that creates a new, more effective logo for Social Actions.
Our logo was created last summer without too much thought. I noticed that an enlarged 'c' 't' and 'i' in "actions" created a nice crescendo. I picked two colors that looked okay to me, and that was that.
Our logo has served us well in the year since, but it's time to get more intentional about our brand. Below is an excerpt from the logo contest:
Social Actions is looking for a new logo:
We have no preconceived notions or attachments to our current look and feel.
Please be creative. Help us communicate what Social Actions is about.
The contest ends November 2, 2008. According to the GeniusRocket website, there are already 36 people working on a new design, and 21 designs submitted. I'd love to see a winning design emerge from within the Social Actions community.
