Wokai Launches Pilot Program for China Microfinance

Hi everyone!

After over a year of development, we are proud to announce that Wokai.org is almost ready for launch!

We are building an internet platform that we describe as Kiva + Facebook + Wikipedia, specifically focused on microfinance in China. We are based in Beijing, with active chapters in San Francisco, Seattle, and New York.

To watch a video describing our site, click here.

However, we need your help to take the site from good to great, making sure the site functions smoothly, finding the kinks in the system, and maximizing the user experience. Today we are launching the Wokai.org Pilot Program. We're looking for 200 people to help us test out the site by making $50 in contributions directly to microentrepreneurs in Inner Mongolia, and providing feedback on this process.

If you are interested, or if anyone you know is interested, there are two ways to sign up for the Pilot Program:

1) Email Chris Glen in Beijing (chris.glen -at- wokai -dot- org).

2) Sign up to attend the Wokai.org Pilot Program on Facebook.

Once you have signed up, Chris will email you all relevant instructions and materials.

For more information about Wokai, we invite you to visit Wokai.org, read our blog, and listen to this 5-minute podcast featuring founders Casey Wilson and Courtney McColgan.

We're counting on you to make Wokai.org a reality!

Thank you all!
