Add Ways to Take Action on Poverty to Your Blog - BlogActionDay!

When the Social Actions Team heard about BlogActionDay a couple months ago, we immediately pinged the team over @BlogActionDay and offered to help.

Our idea: a widget that bloggers could add that automatically shared ways to take action on poverty from 20+ social action platforms.

Scott Stadum of Idealist and Kyla Gardiner created the rock-star designs and we used Sprout (an awesome widget builder) to create the widget. To create the poverty action feed, we typed in "poverty" and "homeless" into the Social Actions search - which gave us the latest poverty actions from GlobalGiving, Kiva, Nabuur, Change.org, Care2, and over 20 other platforms. We then grabbed the RSS feeds for these search queries and piped them into the widget.

We hope you like the widgets and add one of them to your blog for BlogActionDay - and beyond!

Bonus: You can also follow PovertyActions on Twitter here.
