Social Actions has been engaged to help carry out the web 2.0 outreach for a high-profile conference taking place in San Francisco next month, called Social Capital Markets 2008.
Over the next several weeks, I will personally be wearing my social media evangelist hat as I hit the social web inviting people to participate in the conference, online and offline.
In exchange for helping to increase awareness and deepen the conversation around SoCap08 (which is truly a pleasure), Social Actions has been named a "media sponsor" and will receive one comped ticket for the event. For readers of the Social Actions blog, this means that you'll get direct reporting from SoCap08, with plenty of opportunities to add your thoughts on where you think the social capital movement is headed.
So what is Social Capital Markets 2008?

SoCap08 brings together the entrepreneurs who are going to change the world, and the investors who are providing the fuel to make it happen. This is about action, not theory, taking social enterprise to scale with real capital from real investors. We’re bringing together innovative capital from around the world--such as the new breed of social venture funds, along with the big investment banks, foundations, angel investors, and even development agencies—who collectively are proving that you can use the market to make a difference and make a financial return.
Update (10/2): Here's a sprout that I created for SoCap08:
