Last week, I had the opportunity to ask Chris Garrett, co-author of “ProBlogger”, a few questions about the value of blogging for small non-profits. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Chris, he is a thought-leader among the blogging world and founder of “OMIQ“, a new media consulting firm. Most recently Chris gave a talk at the Successful Outstanding Bloggers conference (SOBCon08) in Chicago.

I'm writing to draw your attention to a new Social Actions member. He runs a for-profit operation with a compelling story: used to be in New Orleans until Katrina came, is now in Connecticut and shifting to an online business, gives 10% of every sale (off the top) to post-Katrina projects, and has a fair trade ethic to boot.
He's just posted a blog entry asking for advice as he approaches social media marketing for the first time. If you have a moment to provide quick insights, recommended resources, etc. that would be wonderful. Or even just a "hang in there, you'll figure it out." :)
