Profile Information

My web address:

About me:
Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, but I've spent most of my life growing up in the beautifully diverse city of Montreal, Canada. I've blogged about my travel experiences since 2004. Currently an IT consultant and have the privilege of working with several multinational organizations in a variety of industries.

In February 2005, I made the decision to go to Sri Lanka to assist with reconstruction efforts after the devastating Asian Tsunami. In December 2008, I went to Nepal to give a Business Development and Social Entrepreneurship awareness training to 8 of the largest NGOs in Nepal.

I have a keen interest in entrepreneurship, social issues and technology. I've always enjoyed helping others (which might be why I'm a consultant!), but after witnessing the kindness, hospitality, ingenuity and resilience of people in developing countries, my long term objective is to work in the development field!

Ian, welcome! Noticing we have a few things in common. Do you already know Peter Deitz (Social Action founder, Montreal-ite)? And if you have an interest in being digging into the development of the Social Entrepreneur API let us know -- sounds like it overlaps w/ quite a few of your interests.
