Tell Us: Is Social Actions a Bridge, Radio Program, Yellow Pages, Mailman or Potluck?

Last week I asked you all to share How Would You Explain Social Actions to Aunt Matilda to help me help Social Actions rewrite their web site.

Your response was great! Thank you so much. I've posted a roundup of your ideas below. I'd love to know either in the comments, or via email (britt@brittbravo.com), which ones stand out to you, and best describe Social Actions. Of course, if reading the ideas belo… Continue

Yikes... you asked me a questions about a month ago and I completely missed it. Happy to chat/skype/ichat... name the time and "place technology" and I'll be there!

The discussion just went live today. It is asynchronous, so people will be adding their comments over the next week or so and Beth will respond to comments and questions daily or more often. Just log in to add a comment. Thanks!

Hi Britt,
Beth Kanter is leading a discussion on Social Edge this week, so I thought you might like to join into the conversation and add your two cents about social media to pump up your professional networking.

Britt,
I'm afraid I don't have a lot to share about how to explain SA to the Aunt M. I like Jill's comment Do Good, Take Action, SA makes it easIER! The social net thang is still a bit confounding no? SA does break it down a bit so it's not as overwhelming as FB or MyS...and of course we're talking about those interest in taking action for social good. Sorry not a better help, will think on it more.
Thanks for this work...it'll be interesting to see what else surfaces.

Hi Britt, Thanks for the ping. Here are a couple of thoughts off the top of my head, but you still have to assume Aunt Matilda is somewhat internet attuned.... Jill

the narrative approach:
You want to do something good for a cause you care about. There are lots of websites that talk about lots of causes. SocialActions helps you discover exciting ways you can help YOUR cause, without time-consuming searching. Easily connect with great programs and help in a way that fits you.

or the sound bite approach:
Do Good. Take Action.
Social Actions makes it easy.
