Follow-Up on Reusable Sanitary Pad Project

Some time ago I posted about a project I worked on in Kabondo, Kenya. It was a small pilot of reusable, cloth sanitary pads. The pilot lasted 6 months, at which time we gathered data from the participating girls, about their experiences. After some time, I have FINALLY completed the compilation of the data! Going Green - Lessons From My Grandfather

Growing up with my grandfather living next door, I learned many things that today would be called environmental, but to my grandfather, they were just practical. Lessons Learned - Using Twitter to Fundraise

Recently I tried to raise $2500 through a Twitter fundraising campaign. While we didn't reach our target (we now have just of $800 towards our goal - $500 raised during the event), I did learn some valuable lessons.

IGAs - Some of the Impact on the Community

Here is a write-up that Eric Ochanji put together regarding the background and impact of income generating activities (IGAs) and microloans.

Income Generating Activities for Guardians of orphans and vulnerable children/Foster parents/Child headed households

The idea of supporting small income projects in Kabondo arose out of the need to help guardians of orphans and vulnerable children, sick widows, foster parents, child headed households have a sustainable way of affording the basic n… Continue
